Lowyat rules, Engadget drools

Readers of Engadget drooled on the site’s recent post covering an article which appeared on our local Malaysian tech site and forum, Lowyat.NET. The local article is about the new Intel Sandy Bridge CPUs which are already on sale in Malaysia even before they were suppose to make their official launch at CES 2011 in Las Vegas next year in January. I guess that buying the new chip here before everyone else is a consolation of not having any big tech trade shows annually.

Just in a time for a new Christmas setup, eh? Drop by to Compuzone at the second floor of Lowyat Plaza to get your hands on this. You won’t get this from other retailers in the same mall, or at all. Prices below, the new Sandy Bridge processors can be identified by the 4-digit model compared to the old 3-digit models. For sale are also some new motherboards from ASUS and Gigabyte which have the new Socket 1155 to support it.

Acer Facebook e-voucher giveaway

Dropping by to the Pikom PC Fair (now they’re calling it Digital Lifestyle Expo) this weekend (10th-12th December 2010)?

Well, do stop by and say hi to the Acer folks and they’ll be kind enough to give a you mystery gift. But before that, you gotta go to their Facebook page and download the e-voucher.  But since i’m such a nice guy, i’ll just post it here for you all 🙂

So..you wanna know for all your effort, what you’re gonna get? Well, that sorta spoils the ‘mystery’, doesnt it?

The clue is already on the e-voucher:  “happy moments”. Clearly it has something to do with their new multicoloured  ‘happy’ line of netbooks.

But of course they are not gonna give away free netbooks, silly… They’ll merely be giving you some free…

T-SHIRTSSS..with netbooks designs printed on ’em. This is what the front looks like:

Close up of the netbook logo (clicky thumbnail) :

The sleeves just say Intel and Acer on each side and finally the back, Happy.

Well, it’s not exactly the best looking high quality t-shirt i’ve seen, but to be nagging about something free sounds awfully cheap 🙂 So that’s it, the Acer ‘mystery’ gift unvealed.  Have a nice weekend everyone.
