Vaio + Zacate = Sexy?

With CES currently ongoing in Las Vegas, manufacturers have started to roll out their new netbooks with the new AMD Fusion APUs, which are CPU and GPU combined into one. It’s claimed to give performance above the current Intel Atom CPUs and has built-in GPUs to provide the additional graphic processing capability, while providing good battery life for a portable computer. So far we’ve seen other new netbooks such as the MSI U270 and Toshiba NB550D. But the sexiest by far has go to be this Sony Vaio.
So far this model has yet to be named but the specs have been made known:
- 11.6″ display
- AMD Zacate E-350 (dual core @ 1.6ghz)
- 4GB Ram
- 500GB HDD
- 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth
- HDMI-out
- 3500mah battery (around 3hr 6mins)

Not very impressive battery life to start with, because Sony has decided to be cheap with the batteries. Other bigger batteries providing around 4400mah to 5600mah would be able to give a few more hours out of it, if Sony decides to include it with the system or make it optional accessories.
AMD said that their new Zacate laptops should be out and about after 6 six, which make it right about after Chinese New Year. Price still unknown at the moment but the price should be competitive if Sony wants to sell this Vaio amongst many other new AMD Fusion netbooks coming out. Looks like we know where to spend our new year angpao.
UPDATE:6-Jan-2011
Models with AMD Fusion will be under the Sony Vaio Y series. The systems will come with Windows 7 Home Premium and the base model which has 2Gb ram and 320Gb HDD will be priced at $549 (~RM1700). [source]
